New 4-H Members Invited – The Smoky Mountain 4-H Club of Union County encourages homeschooled students between the ages of 9-19 to attend their first regular 4-H Club meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 18 at 1pm at Big Ridge State Park to see what 4-H has to offer. Upon enrollment, members will have 26 projects from which to choose for special study and hands-on involvement. Projects range from photography and livestock to food science and forestry and wildlife…and everything in between! Several club contests are held throughout the year such as baking, public speaking, and photography. Additionally, members hold offices, learn parliamentary procedure, provide club leadership, and participate in community service activities. For more information contact Adult 4-H Volunteer Leaders, Bill and Debby Morgan (865-278-3975) or the Union County Extension 4-H office at 992-8038.
