Union County Heritage Festival Fine Arts Show Call to Artists – The Union County Heritage Festival Fine Art Show invites artists of all types are to participate in the 2018 Festival. The Union County Heritage Festival’s Art Show is a juried mixed-media exhibition open to artists 18 years of age and above. Those under 18 may enter the Student Art Show. There is no entry fee. Awards will be Best of Show, Best Union County Heritage, First, Second, and Third Place in two dimensional art and the same awards in three dimensional art. Five Honorable Mention Awards will be given for the show. The 2018 Heritage Theme is “Fiddlin’ Around.” An entry must reflect this theme to be considered for the Best Union County Heritage Award. Jerry’s Artarama will co-sponsor the exhibit and provide additional awards. The exhibition is intended to showcase art work produced throughout our area. All work submitted must be original to the artist in idea, design, and production and must not have been shown in a previous Union County Heritage Festival Art Show. Artist are encouraged to enter up to the maximum of three pieces. The Art Show is located at the Historic Snodderly House next to First Baptist Church at 720 Main St., Maynardville. Entries may be brought to the Snodderly House on Thursday, October 4th, between the hours of 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. If you need special arrangements for delivery call Betty prior to the show at 865-992-1005. Art is to be displayed from 10:00-4:00 on Heritage Festival Day, October 6. The Union County Heritage Festival is a daylong event celebrating the history, heritage and culture of Union County, Tennessee, running 10:00 to 4:00 on Saturday, Oct. 6, across three locations in Maynardville, including Wilson Park, the Historic Snodderly House, and the Union County Genealogical Museum and Library. Some of the activities and attractions include music, food, crafts, a quilt show, the Heritage Olympics, authors table, fiddle contest, farmers market, and pie contest.
