Paulette VFD Responds to Brush Fire

Paulette Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire around 1:00 P.M. this afternoon. The fire was on Gloria Lane off of Beard Valley Rd. in Maynardville. The fire was close to homes but firefighters were able to protect the structures from any damage. Maynardville VFD, Northeast VFD, Sharps Chapel VFD, and Luttrell VFD all assisted with the fire. The Tennessee Division of Forestry was also on hand to cut a fire line around the fire. Around 4 acres of property burnt. Fire season is still in effect for Tennessee until May 15th and a burn permit is required to do any outdoor burning. A burn permit can be obtained by contacting the Forestry Division at 865-278-3348.
